This position utilizes building science techniques to direct and oversee all technical aspects of implementation of the Federal Low-Income Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and other related programs including but not limited to field monitoring, policy development, energy modeling, audit approval and reporting. This position supervises WAP and related program technical monitors and monitoring activities. This position provides leadership in meeting US Department of Energy and other program technical requirements including energy audit approvals and policy development.
Minimum Qualifications
Five years of in the field technical experience in residential energy conservation. (A bachelor's degree in building science or a Quality Control Inspection certification may substitute for one year of experience).
AND
Three years' experience working in a supervisor, project management, or lead worker capacity.
Applicants who meet the above experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Experience writing and editing formal reports for external distribution.
Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts and principles in oral and written format with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize work responsibilities, manage a variety of tasks and deadlines, and work well independently.
Ability to interpret and analyze federal and/or state laws as well as department and division policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in building science or a related field.
Experience in a Weatherization Assistance Program.
Formal experience supervising professional staff: performing duties such as staff development, setting goals or priorities, employee onboarding/training, performance reviews.
Completion of a leadership program, e.g., Emerging Leaders Institute, Strategic Effectiveness for Aspiring Leaders.
Physical Requirements
Requires sitting, standing, and moving; climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, or ramps; gross motor manipulation to operate testing equipment; lifting and transporting objects; pushing or pulling and reaching overhead or below.
