Summary

The Director FP&A will be responsible for the review and analysis of financial performance for the organization, assist with development of forecast and budgets, financial modeling, and ad-hoc reporting and analysis. This position will provide strategic financial support including preparing monthly financial presentations, KPI reporting and other related projects. A strong candidate will combine an analytical mindset with technical ability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial results, business drivers, trends, and key performance indicators to provide value-added insight and analysis to support the business.

  • Consolidate and own the process of monthly management financials for UES by region and company.

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management reporting, presentations and dashboards for senior executives and Board of Directors.

  • Prepare KPI reporting for 7 regions and consolidated company including the support in development of branch KPI reporting.

  • Coordinate the budget and forecast process in partnership with business and department leaders to deliver results aligned with strategic objectives.

  • Provide FP&A support and guidance to other departments and assist with ad-hoc projects reporting and analysis.

  • Identify and research variances to forecast, budget and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Identify and understand business challenges; propose and create solutions.

  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within the finance organization and cross-functional teams.

  • Operate with a high sense of urgency and ownership.

  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Occasional travel 5% may be necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • 7+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Experience in an engineering / construction services business

  • D365, Hyperion or OneStream experience preferred

  • Deltek Vantagepoint experience a plus

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization

  • Highly organized and able to multitask

  • Demonstrated strong presentation skills

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
