Corteva Agriscience is currently seeking to hire a Global Regulatory Leader and Business Partner (GRL BP) for oilseeds portfolio. The purpose, to be voice of regulatory of the oilseeds portfolio for business and functional leadership. Accountable to develop and successfully implement regulatory strategies in support of the global oilseeds portfolio within Corteva. This role can accommodate a flexible work arrangement where you may work multiple days a week from home.

What You'll Do:

  • Provides regulatory guidance for development and implementation of technical and business strategy, as well as product development plans.

  • Leads global regulatory strategy development, communication, and implementation at the oilseeds portfolio level, aligned to business goals and strategy, as well as Corteva R&D innovation goals.

  • Responsible for clear communication of global regulatory strategy, plans, and business objectives and key developments to regulatory project team members who assess potential impact on global or regional regulatory strategy and plans. Actively engages with regional regulatory colleagues to ensure the regulatory dept

  • rovides a single voice for escalating issues.

  • Accountable for planning and management of the global regulatory budget for the portfolio.

  • Serves as a key advisor on regulatory matters to Global and Regional Business Leaders and their respective networks, in collaboration with regional regulatory colleagues.

  • Maintains full awareness of all regulatory projects for the oilseeds portfolio, including critical regulatory milestones and issues. Intervenes for and escalates regulatory issues as required within the Global Portfolio Leadership Team and R&D functions.

  • Guides and mentors regulatory staff leading or contributing to funded projects and onboards new regulatory colleagues.

  • Supports development of a world-class global regulatory function by sharing expertise and knowledge.

  • Would serve as Global Regulatory Leader for some traits in the oilseeds portfolio. Specifically, this has the following additional responsibilities:

  • Leads the global regulatory project team to successful approvals through strong partnerships with regulatory sciences and regulatory affairs colleagues. This includes facilitating regulatory data reviews, registrability assessments, and regulatory project decision-making.

  • Provides regulatory guidance for development and implementation of technical strategy, as well as trait project plans and business case.

  • Maintains accountability for strategy, planning and management of the global regulatory budget for the assigned trait programs, in collaboration with functional and commercial colleagues.

  • Responsible for coordinating global regulatory advocacy as necessary to support achievement of regulatory program goals, aligned to the regulatory strategy.

Who You'll Interact With:

  • The GRL BP functionally reports to, and is supervised by, the Global Regulatory Affairs Leader.

  • As member of a Global Portfolio Leadership Team (GPLT), the GRL BP receives direction from, and is accountable to, the Global Oilseeds Portfolio Leader (GPL) for global regulatory strategy objectives.

  • The GRL BP does not have direct reports but exercises leadership for global regulatory teams and individuals within R&D and other functions through influence, collaboration and negotiation.

  • Supports global and regional regulatory teams to ensure the correct implementation of Corteva product development processes.

  • Accountability for leadership of global regulatory teams supporting business objectives. Engages in regional regulatory teams to support and provide global perspective, and alignment on key regional objectives and communications.

  • GRL BP represents Corteva on industry bodies, at relevant trade and industry conferences, and actively monitors global trends to serve a key consultant and point of contact for Corteva.

Qualifications

What Skills You Need:

  • Technical degree with specialization in agriculture, biology, genetics, chemistry, or an equivalent discipline.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in registration and regulatory affairs of plant biotech products with proven excellence in problem solving

  • Good understanding of the market dynamics related to the seeds and biotechnology industry.

  • Dedicated team worker with an ability to motivate and engage. Experience in regulatory team leadership is essential.

  • Excellent organization, planning and prioritization skills for self and team.

  • A clear and confident communicator (both written and verbal) able to articulate complex scientific ideas to non-experts and deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Agility, proactivity, and dynamism are essential in a growing international company.
